Source basis: NEPRA (Alternative & Renewable Energy) Distributed Generation and Net Metering Regulations, 2015 were repealed by the NEPRA Prosumer Regulations, 2026. Always check the latest amendment, the live DISCO bill and the terms applicable to the consumer’s agreement.
The 2026 framework separates imported and exported energy for billing. That makes on-site daytime consumption central to the economics of a new system. Consumers with an earlier agreement should not assume that every new rule applies in exactly the same way; their agreement date and the transitional provisions must be checked before changing or expanding the system.
What a sound specification should do
- Measure or reconstruct the daytime load profile.
- Size the system around energy used on site first.
- Treat export as a secondary benefit rather than the main business case.
- Check the agreement date, applicable regulation and current import/export treatment.
- Issue a vendor-neutral specification so quotations can be compared fairly.
Roman Urdu: 2026 ke prosumer rules ke baad naya solar system asal daytime load ke mutabiq size karna aur purane agreement ki applicable terms verify karna zaroori hai.
