The useful question is not “why is the tariff high?” It is “which part of this bill can I move?”

Every electricity bill combines charges set above you with costs driven by your own load and account status. The first half includes the base tariff, fuel-price adjustment, quarterly adjustment, duty and GST. You should understand these lines, but you cannot negotiate them.

The half you can control

Your consumption, protected status, appliance run-time, avoidable penalties and the sizing of any solar or backup system are much more actionable. A diagnosis should rank these by rupees instead of presenting a long list of generic tips.

What to do this week

  1. Find the “Cost of Electricity” line.
  2. Check whether the bill marks you as protected and review the last six months.
  3. List the three appliances that run for the longest time each day.
  4. Use the calculator, then request a free Bill Health Check for a plain-language review.

Roman Urdu: Bill ka ek hissa tariff aur taxes ka hai jo aap badal nahin sakte. Doosra hissa units, protected status aur avoidable penalties ka hai. Asli bachat isi doosre hissay mein hoti hai.

Standing caveat: tariff, FPA, QTA and scheme rules can change. Verify the live bill and latest official notification before using a specific figure.
